Samantha Browning, LCSW
Hi, my name is Sam and I am a licensed clinical social worker bringing 7 years of clinical mental health experience with an emphasis on trauma and mood regulation. Moving into private practice, I have integrated my clinical skills with a personal passion for empowering others and helping them create the life they want for themselves. My approach is warm, relaxed, collaborative and grounded in evidence based practice. My goal is for therapy sessions to feel easy and natural, like talking to a friend-but with an additional layer of boundaries and professional expectations added to it.
In our work together, I focus on helping you build emotional clarity, nervous system regulation, and a deep sense of self trust. Therapy with me is not about fixing you— It is about helping you have a deeper understanding of yourself so you can develop more practical tools that actually translate into daily life and create lasting change that feels sustainable.
If you are looking for a therapist that is both professional and deeply human, I’d be honored to support you.
So hear me out..
This is going to sound weird, but bare with me…
I know we are about to run out of time, but let me hit this point real quick
How has mood and anxiety been feeling lately?
Have you been feeling that somatically or cognitively-both?
How can you prioritize you this week?
Before I throw in my 2 cents, how did that make you feel?
Common Phrases you will hear from me in your sessions:
COULD WE BE A GOOD FIT?
Random truths about me:
I am a very direct person- once I get to know you and your threshold for constructive feedback.
I love weight training and learning more about healing the body through movement.
Holistic self care is my current obsession: saunas, pressure point therapy, facia release, nature walks, yoga, deep stretching and mobility.
Love makeup up and everything beauty but you will probably rarely see me in more than a very natural look.
If you cuss in session, I will eventually drop the F bomb as well.
I value authenticity and compassion above all else
I found out I had ADHD at the age of 25 yrs old. It did not stop me from being successful but now i am substantially less drained due to understanding how my body functions and what it needs.
I first valued understanding my thoughts and emotions before finding safety in consistently feelings my emotions.
Things I do that you may not like:
Drink water/coffee/energy drinks in session
Laugh ironically (but also tactfully)
Repeat myself (intentionally most the time for memory retention)
Give homework/journal prompts and don’t request evidence of completion the following session (I LOVE when you offer to share on your own)
Take notes- not about you, more about what points I know I want to bring up to you once we finish discussing the current topic or recording important information you do give me.
Utilize facial expressions as a form of reflective listening and validation
If it is winter time, odds are I will be comfy in a hoodie or crewneck sweatshirt
